Dimitrovgrad hosted public hearings on EIA of SVBR-100



Public hearings of the materials concerning environmental impact assessment (EIA) during further construction of the SVBR-100 pilot unit in Dimitrovgrad (Ulyanovsk Region, Russia) were held in Dimitrovgrad on June the 2nd 2014. More than 400 residents of the town and the region have participated in the discussion.


Head of administration of Dimitrovgrad Alexander Baryshev greeting the audience highlighted that the hearings were held in compliance with the federal laws "On Environmental Protection" and "On Ecological Expertise". Rosatom’s Deputy Director of JSC Science and Innovations Alexander Tuzov and AKME-engineering (SVBR-100 project originator) Director General Vladimir Petrochenko were also presented at the presidium and welcomed the audience.


The presentation of the project itself and further construction of the pilot unit has been followed by reports of AKME-engineering’s SVBR-100 partners: VNIPIET, State Research Center - A.I. Leypunsky Physics and Power Engineering Institute, Energoproekttehnologiya and others.


At the end of the hearings Vladimir Petrochenko has reminded that all comments and suggestions on the EIA materials are accepted until July 2, 2014. After that all collected materials will be forwarded to federal authorities to obtain a license for the construction of a pilot unit with SVBR-100 reactor in Dimitrovgrad.
